FAQ
Frequently asked questions about PMFKit.
- Is my data safe?
- We only read the public footprint of the URL you paste. No authenticated crawls, no internal analytics, no warehouse connections. See what we read, what we store.
- Can I analyze a competitor?
- Yes. PMFKit reads only public pages, the same way a journalist or a competitive analyst would. We do not bypass logins. The cleanest legal posture is founder analyzing their own URL, but analyzing a competitor's public page is squarely inside the hiQ and Van Buren US framework.
- What if my product doesn't have a public URL?
- PMFKit is a wedge for products with at least a public landing page. If you're pre URL (an idea, a stealth project, a private alpha), the report won't have enough signal to produce a useful verdict. Ship a one page landing site first.
- How accurate is the verdict?
- Each verdict carries a confidence label (high, moderate, low). High confidence verdicts rest on Verified claims; low confidence verdicts mostly rest on AI inference and PMFKit will say so explicitly. See the verdict page.
- How long does an analysis take?
- 180 to 240 seconds for a typical site. The result page streams progress as the five pipeline stages complete (Discovery, Crawl, Enrichment, Component, Synthesis).
- Can I run PMFKit again on the same URL later?
- Yes. Pro and Pro+ tiers include unlimited re runs. Re run when you hit a decision moment (board update, pre fundraise, pivot trigger) to see if the public signal has moved.
- What does Continue, Pause, or Kill actually mean?
- Continue: keep investing on the current vector with the named focus area. Pause: one specific test or fix before reinvesting. Kill: the evidence says this isn't working on the current vector. See the verdict page for what to do with each.
- What's the difference between PMFKit and ChatGPT?
- ChatGPT writes unsourced prose and hedges by training. PMFKit labels every claim with its source and confidence, runs a deterministic crawl plus public APIs, and is structurally positioned to deliver a Kill verdict (which a general LLM cannot reliably do). The price is similar; the output is not.
- What's the difference between PMFKit and a bespoke PMF diagnostic?
- A bespoke fixed-scope PMF diagnostic costs $5K to $25K and takes two to six weeks. PMFKit costs $99 per month and runs in minutes. An hourly-billed engagement has a structural incentive to avoid Kill (it ends the engagement); PMFKit does not bill by the hour. The verdict is the structural moat.
- Can I cancel anytime?
- Yes. Pro and Pro+ are month to month. Cancel from your account page; access continues until the end of the current billing cycle.
- Do you offer refunds?
- If your first full Pro month doesn't deliver value, email support@pmfkit.com within 7 days and we'll refund. Investor pack refunds are case by case.
- Can I delete my data?
- Yes. Email support@pmfkit.com and we'll process the deletion within the GDPR 30 day window. See privacy.
- Is there an API?
- Not yet for the Pro and Pro+ tiers. A Team plan with API access is on the roadmap for accelerators and VC firms. Email support@pmfkit.com if you need it sooner.
- Where do public report cards live?
- Every analysis gets a public URL at /r/<slug>. Share it, pin it on your site, link it on social. The page carries share buttons for Twitter, LinkedIn, and copy link.
- I think a claim is wrong. What now?
- Click the source breadcrumb on the claim. If you still think it's wrong, use the "Report incorrect" button on the report page or email support@pmfkit.com with the slug. We use these reports to tune prompts on the eval set.
